Canning Vale Vet - Imaging - X-Ray & Ultrasound

At Canning Vale Vet, we use advanced digital X-ray and ultrasound imaging to help diagnose a wide range of conditions and guide the most appropriate treatment for your pet. These imaging tools allow us to assess both bones and internal organs, providing valuable information that may not be visible during a physical examination alone.

Our digital X-ray system produces clear, high-quality images within seconds, allowing us to evaluate bones, joints, and the chest and abdomen efficiently. X-rays are particularly useful for identifying fractures, arthritis, foreign bodies, lung conditions, internal fluid, and enlargement of organs. This fast imaging capability helps us make timely decisions and begin treatment sooner when your pet needs care.

Ultrasound imaging provides more detailed assessment of soft tissues and internal organs. It allows us to examine structures such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, stomach, and intestines. Ultrasound is especially helpful for identifying masses, abscesses, internal bleeding, abdominal lymph node changes, and gastrointestinal foreign bodies. It also plays an important role in assessing urinary tract obstructions, bladder stones, bladder masses, and uterine conditions.

Because X-ray and ultrasound provide different types of information, they are often used together to give a more complete understanding of your pet’s condition. Our team will recommend the most appropriate imaging based on your pet’s symptoms and clinical findings.

For ultrasound procedures, fasting is typically recommended on the morning of the appointment to improve image quality. Our goal is to provide accurate, timely imaging to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring of your pet’s health.
